WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Treetop Flyers operates from May through October in all weather conditions.
Our current hours of operation are Thursday-Sunday from 10:00AM-6:00PM. We are able to accommodate tours from Monday-Wednesday but we do require you to pre-book. Pre-bookings can be done online, or by contacting us at [email protected].
Treetop Flyers uses the Skyline Zipline System© which is fully engineered and certified. Treetop Flyers is the safest cable ride system in the world because it utilizes a permanent rock anchor system. Treetop Flyers is certified by the BC Safety Authority and the course and equipment is inspected daily.
Please dress in comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather. Although Chase is known for having a hot and dry summer climate, Chase Canyon is surrounded by tall canyon walls and is shaded from the sun for most of the day. In addition, wear comfortable and supportive footwear as light trail walking is a part of the Canyon Tour. Open toed shoes are not permitted while on tour.
The Canyon Tour runs approximately 90 minutes start to finish. This includes equipment fitting and safety training, a ride on the Flying Fox and shuttle transportation from the village of Chase to the Chase Creek Canyon zipline site.
Each tour begins with detailed instruction and training before a ride on the Flying Fox, our 100-metre zipline located in our staging and sales area. If you’re still too nervous about ziplining and do not wish to continue to the next set of canyon ziplines, we can take you off the tour. Please keep in mind there are no refunds given if this occurs. Our guides are trained to ensure both your safety and comfort throughout the tour.
Our age limit is 6 years of age incorporated with a weight minimum of 60 lbs to participate. Our maximum weight capacity is 275 lbs.
Treetop Flyers uses a leading edge brake system. Using a spring-bank mechanical braking system allows you to come to a stop automatically. The spring-bank braking system is a series of springs with differing compressions held together with ‘spacer’ blocks and headed with a ‘catch-block’ which allows for the flyer’s speed to be absorbed and slowed smoothly to a stop.
The harness system Treetop Flyers uses was custom designed by Skyline Zipline Systems©. The design is based off of traditional para-gliding harnesses, which are made to be comfortable for hours at a time. The stark contrast between our harnesses and the climbing harnesses used in other zipline systems is highlighted by the comfortable leg and back supports as well as a chest strap to ensure rider security. This system allows guests to stay in a comfortable position throughout their flight.
